When Wild Olive first launched in 2008 it was a group venture. Now it’s a one-mama show. Which makes the about page a little bit awkward.
If you’d like to read about me personally, and how the Lord has blessed our family through adoption, you can do that here. For this space I’d rather try to just stick to Wild Olive. Because I have a tendency to get a little chatty when it comes to my babies.
Wild Olive began as an actual dream. It took several years and God sending just the right best friend into my life (ready and willing to tackle all the things that terrified me) to finally lead me into what He’d been asking me to do for years.
We launched in 2008 and had a ridiculously fun go… and with a start that only God could script, we were surprisingly successful. But in early 2014 we closed up shop. We needed to reorganize, restructure and just rest.
Since then we’ve grown our family by two of the most incredible daughters. Each had their own t-shirt dedicated to their adoption process and home-coming and – despite all the challenges and hard work the t-shirt making/selling/shipping entails – we loved every bit of it.
And we’ve realized that t-shirts are just kinda in our family’s jam. We love ’em, and we love how the Lord uses them to bless us and others. So, in August of 2016, after our littlest love had her once-broken heart repaired, we began asking the Lord to make His will clear on Wild Olive. And He did.
So here we are, seven designs and almost 1300 shirts later, and we are doing this thing. Completely family-run, our biggest girl – and art-school graduate – is our graphic designer. Our teenaged boys help with inventory, shipping and social media. And the littles? Help with wrapping, vigorous product testing, and post-office runs.
So very excited to see what He’s going to do with Wild Olive. Because it’s all His anyway.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. – Matthew 6:33
